Hamad International Airport Jet A-1 Supply
The project entails the construction of a dedicated pipeline to supply additional Jet A-1 fuel from Ras Laffan Industrial City (RLIC) to Hamad International Airport (HIA) in Doha. This new infrastructure is designed to meet the airport’s long-term fuel requirements beyond 2030, supporting Qatar’s strategic vision for aviation growth.
Recognized as a key milestone in diversifying Qatar’s national economy, the project also strengthens the country’s aviation sector. QatarEnergy remains committed to maximizing the value of its natural resources by producing high-value products and ensuring a reliable energy supply for both domestic and international markets.
The primary objective of the project is to construct four Jet A-1 fuel storage tanks of adequate capacity at the Jet Fuel Tank Farm (JFTF) in RLIC. It also includes the development of a collection facility to receive Jet A-1 fuel from local producers [LR1 & LR2 and Pearl GTL], and a dedicated sales pipeline to transport the fuel from RLIC to HIA, aligning with Qatar Airways’ projected demand growth as outlined in its business plan.
The scope of work encompasses engineering design, procurement of plant, equipment, and materials, expediting, project management, construction, inspection, testing, pre-commissioning, commissioning, start-up, supply of spare parts, and operation and maintenance. The facilities include the JFTF, the pipeline, the C2 Station at HIA, sectional block valves (SBVs), substations, and all associated systems required to deliver a fully operational and reliable fuel supply infrastructure.
