Pearl GTL Project

The largest GTL Project in the world with a capacity of 140,000 BPD of GTL products

  • The largest oxygen plant built in one place and one phase, producing 28,800 tons of oxygen/day.
  • The largest process water treatment and re-use system with a capacity of 45,000 m3/day.
  • The largest steam generation system in the industry.
  • The largest hydrocracking capacity in one location.

To execute this project, CCC mobilized a workforce of over 15,000 individuals and 2,500 pieces of construction equipment within an industrial zone comparable in size to Amsterdam

At its peak construction phase, the project created approximately 52,000 jobs, delivering a significant boost to the local economy. It leveraged Shell’s advanced Gas-to-Liquids (GTL) technology to convert natural gas into high-value liquid hydrocarbons, firmly establishing Qatar as a global leader in GTL innovation.

In addition, the project implemented a fully integrated water management system, achieving zero wastewater discharge and no fresh water intake – a testament to its strong commitment to environmental sustainability and responsible resource management.
