In AlUla, Waste doesn’t Leeave the Site. It Helps Build it
At the Royal Commission for AlUla Headquarters project, CCC is transforming construction waste into valuable resources, supporting the project’s LEED Gold target while advancing a more circular approach to construction.
- 311 tonnes of surplus concrete → repurposed into site walkways and ramps
- 67 tonnes of rebar offcuts → transformed into safety barriers, handrails, and parking stoppers
- 6 tonnes of timber → given a second life as planters, steps, and benches
- 744 tonnes of steel scrap → diverted for recycling
More than 1,130 tonnes of waste have been kept out of landfill, representing 76% of all waste generated on site.
The impact goes far beyond waste reduction:
- 1,096 tonnes of CO₂e emissions avoided
- 1.2 million kWh of electricity saved
- 210,643 gallons of water conserved
- The equivalent of 145 trees preserved
At CCC, sustainability is not about ticking boxes or achieving certifications. While LEED Gold is an important milestone, we believe real impact comes from rethinking how we build, reducing what we discard, and finding value in every resource.
Because in a place as extraordinary as AlUla, every tonne reused, every emission avoided, and every resource conserved contributes to a more sustainable future.
