New Port at Al Duqm – Maritime Works

Strategically positioned at the heart of the region, Al Duqm has emerged as the ideal location for one of the Middle East’s most ambitious maritime infrastructure projects.

Led by the CCC/STFA–JDN Consortium, with CCC at the forefront, the development of the new port represents a transformative leap in Oman’s logistics and trade capabilities. This landmark initiative features robust breakwaters, advanced dredging for seamless navigation, extensive land reclamation, and the construction of cutting-edge quay walls and maritime structures. Enhanced by comprehensive earthworks, navigation aids, and shipyard facilities, the port solidified its role as a cornerstone of regional connectivity and economic growth. Al Duqm is set to become a beacon of maritime innovation and efficiency, anchoring Oman’s vision of becoming a global maritime hub.

Significant environmental challenges were addressed through innovative, sustainable solutions. Measures included protecting local wildlife by adjusting construction schedules and deploying Marine Mammal Observers, controlling dust and noise pollution, implementing strict waste management protocols, and addressing water scarcity with a 1,500 m³/day RO desalination plant. Wastewater was treated naturally and reused to irrigate 1,000 trees under the “The Desert Goes Green” initiative—demonstrating a strong commitment to ecological responsibility.
