CCC Supports Delivery of Life-Saving Neonatal Incubators to Gaza

CCC is proud to have partially supported the Gaza Mobile Health Initiative (GMHI), which achieved a major humanitarian milestone in April 2026 through the successful delivery and distribution of 20 neonatal incubators to hospitals and field medical facilities across Gaza and Khan Younis.

The incubators were allocated to five healthcare facilities, helping address the critical shortage of neonatal care equipment for premature and high-risk newborns in Gaza. The equipment is expected to support approximately 2,400 newborns annually and significantly strengthen neonatal care capacity across the Gaza Strip.

This achievement comes amid ongoing challenges facing Gaza’s healthcare system, including damaged infrastructure, power disruptions, and shortages of essential medical equipment. Prior to the war, approximately 132 incubators served around 13,000 neonatal admissions each year; current estimates indicate that only 87–95 incubators remain operational.

The project was implemented by GMHI under the leadership of Taawon, with technical support from the American University of Beirut and Harvard University Center for Middle Eastern Studies. Close collaboration with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) played a significant role in securing approvals and overcoming logistical challenges after more than 18 months of restrictions.

As one of the donors supporting this important initiative, CCC is honored to contribute to efforts that improve access to essential healthcare services and help save the lives of vulnerable newborns and families in Gaza.
